The aim of this paper is to define and to analyse the fantastic universe of short stories by Manuel Baixauli published in the volume Espiral (2010), an original and highly significant example of modern fantastic literature that has abolished the real and imaginary borders, that is to say a significant example of fantastic literature conceived as a language phenomenon. Quite often fantastic literature has been studied using ideas from theoretical physics in order to verify how the development of the latter modifies the reader's perception of the former. Instead, this article proposes the opposite: this article will explore theoretical physics using the ideas from the fantastic. The core principle here is that both reflect on the reality and fracture it, changing the reader's reality paradigm. While physics changes it from reality, using to it the principles of the mathematics, the fantastic does this using (and fracturing) a fictional space.
Bēgšana no realitātes Maikla Šabona darbā „Kavaliera un Kleja brīnumainie piedzīvojumi”

Šajā darbā tiek pētīta terminu “bēgšana no realitātes” un “literatūra bēgšanai no realitātes” nozīme, un tiek parādīts, kā laika gaitā ir attīstījusies šo jēdzienu uztvere. Darba galvenā daļa ir veltīta tam, lai analizētu, vai Maikla Šabona darbs “Kavaliera un Kleja brīnumainie piedzīvojumi” var tikt kategorizēts kā literatūra bēgšanai no realitātes, izpētot dažādus bēgšanas no realitātes veidus, kas parādās šajā grāmatā, kā arī izpētot attiecības starp fantastikas literatūru un Holokausta literatūru.
